PURPOSE To ensure good relations between Stansted Cricket Club (SCC) and its neighbours.
SCOPE This policy applies to all activities undertaken by SCC at Hargrave Park (under the auspices of the Stansted Sports Association – SSA). This includes the playing of cricket matches by all age groups, and the use of the pavilion and ground for social (non-playing) events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the responsibility of the Executive Committee to ensure all members are aware of this policy.
It is the responsibility of all SCC members (this includes Senior, Junior, Family and non-playing members) to comply with this policy.
It is the responsibility of the Captain of the Day to represent SCC when any issue occurs with our neighbours during a senior cricket match. This applies whether an issue is caused by a SCC member, a visitor to the club, or a visiting team member.
It is the responsibility of the Team Manager to represent SCC when any issue occurs with our neighbours during a junior cricket match. This applies whether an issue is caused by a SCC member, a visitor to the club, or a visiting team member.
It is the responsibility of the Responsible Club Member to represent SCC when any issue occurs with our neighbours when the pavilion or ground is hired. The Responsible Club Member is the person who is hiring the pavilion or ground. This applies whether an issue is caused by a SCC member, a visitor to the club, or a visiting team member.
It is the responsibility of the Executive Committee to communicate events to neighbours.
POLICY
4.1 Damage SCC will take reasonable precautions to prevent damage to neighbouring properties.
4.2 Car Parking Cars are parked in the Hargrave Park car at each visitor’s own risk. A notice to this effect will be displayed in the pavilion and on the side of the mower shed facing the car park.
4.3 Noise and Disturbance All members will respect the privacy of our neighbours bu conducting themselves appropriately. This includes:-
Opening and closing the club bar in accordance with the terms and conditions of the licence issued by Uttlesford District Council.
Leaving the premises quietly after dark.
4.4 Access to Neighbour’s Property In the event of a cricket ball entering a neighbour’s property, the retrieving SCC member must attempt to contact the neighbour prior to retrieving the ball.
4.5 Incidents When an incident occurs, the Responsible Person (see section 3 Responsibilities) must advise a member of the Executive Committee of the details of the incident, and the action taken, as soon as possible after the event.
4.6 Events Neighbours shall be advised of all non-cricket events (eg a community sports day) to be staged. The frequency and nature of the communication shall be managed by the Executive Committee.
4.7 Mobile net Whenever the mobile net is used for practice, it is to be used facing the football stand and pointing away from the houses in Dove Close.
4.8 Communications This policy will be posted on the Club’s website (www.stanstedcc.hitscricket.com) and a copy given to each neighbour together with a copy of the annual fixture list.
4.9 Compliance Where members of SCC fail to comply with this policy, the Club’s Disciplinary Policy may be applied at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
